Feature Improvement – What’s new in PC Matic Home?

We have released some new changes to the online UI for our product line. While most of these changes are simply a design refresh, there are a few that result in new locations for some familiar options. Check out the different breakdowns!

Helpcenter

The all new Helpcenter will be located in the lower right hand corner and is still your home to sales support, technical support, and documentation about the console.

Options Section

Now all of your options are located in one compact place. You can expand out and close this section when necessary, but it will be the home to your installers, scans, and local whitelist management.

Device Filters

Just like before, you can still take advantage of the device filters that are available at the top of the tab to shuffle between your Android devices and Computers.

If there is anything that you are having trouble locating in the new layout, be sure to use the new Helpcenter and contact our technical support team for assistance.

  1. My issue is that PCmatic keeps disappearing from my computer. It is nowhere to be found. I have no idea if it is working other than an occasional update from you. I may have a malware on my computer and I want to run pcmatic but the only way I can is to download the free one from the website. There is nowhere to run this from my homepage.

  2. Hi I am not to swavy on computers. I’ve had PcMatic a few months now and love it. But certain things confuse me. Like when I read my scan report were it say’s last scan. Well the date will read a month ago. But the scheduler say’s it’s set for every 24 hours. Sometimes I will even scan it manually and I will check it a couple hours later and it will say last scan a month ago. (Confused) Also before I purchased Pcmatic when I would watch the advertisement on TV it would say free Cyber Security training. I thought wow cool. I been trying to figure out how to get trained for a month now and I’m still at a dead end. Help would be Sincerlly appreciated. One more thing. Like I said I am not to computer savy. I problaby won’t know how to make it back to this page to see if you guy’s send me a answer. could you e-mail me instructions on what to do next. Sincerlly Todd (Cajunkid663@aol.com

    • Hi Kayla thank you so much for responding so quick. I was worried I would never find the answer thinking I had to log into some special website. But even a novice like me can open my e-mail and see that one. That’s awesome. One more thing. Could you help me understand I don’t know if when I set all the settings for the scan. Should I put the auto registry setting on or off ? I’m not even sure what auto registry does. I really appreciate your help. Confused Cajun. (Cajunkid663@aol.com)

  3. Devin and Kayla,
I have contacted your support help when I got a Global Root virus, I got one reply telling me to use Malwarebytes and another by TSA then scan with PCmatic… I did all those as told in the safe mode. I don’t know if I have the virus now or not but I can’t get the help desk to ANSWER ANY OF MY EMAILS… i HAVE BEEN WITH MY PC WORKING LIKE IT IS SUPPOSED TO FOR OVER A WEEK NOW… A LITTLE HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED..My PC take at least 5 minutes to boot up and then is very slow when going to websites and at times I will get a blue screen for at least 15 minutes… I have checked the task manager and it show that less than 20 % is being used yet it freezes up…

    • Hello Bobbie, I do see your support tickets in our customer support area and it looks like they were responded to very quickly by our team. The message may have started going to your spam or junk folders. Have you checked those areas?

      • @Devin Bergin: I had to go out of town so I couldn’t continue trying to get my PC straightened out… Today I ran the malwarebytes and PCmatic scan… It still takes a long time to boot up and Super Shield is blocking at least 20 items…Please help me with this…

        • Bobbie, were you able to locate the support tickets originally from our customer service team? The best course of action would be to let them know so our team can investigate and get your issues sorted out. You can contact them at pcmatic.com/help or by replying to the last email the sent to you.

          • @Devin Bergin: I was able to locate the original and sent them another email…This morning PC Matic ran its normal scan and the email I got was that no threats identified and no action taken… Within 5 minutes the Global Root was trying to access my files… Now what am I supposed to do????????? Or do you just want me to go away????????

            Sirs:

I just finished doing the complete recommendations that you gave me… I don’t know if it has taken care of the problem or not… I just did a restart after everything was finished and it took my PC over 8 minutes to boot up…When I finished the Malawarebytes scan Super Shield blocked 17 Global Root attempts to access files or programs… matter of a fact as I am writing this it blocked several attempts …I am trying to get a screen shot of the list of denials…What else can I do accept take my pc to a repair shop??????????????????here is a copy of what I sent
I have to go out of town again and this time it may be a couple of weeks before I can get back to this PC…

            • Bobbie, it looks like these are just unknown applications being stopped initially but then after our team gets a chance to categorize them they’re good. Seeing Super Shield stop things means they were never allowed to run so even if it was something back it didn’t cause any harm or access any information on your computer because Super Shield blocked it.

  4. I installed the PC matic and now all my microsoft programs are gone. Word, Excel etc and I can not open any saved documents.

    • Hi Jeanne,
Please reach out to our support team at http://www.pcmatic.com/help. The installation of our product will not create issues with Microsoft Office, as it is a known safe program. However, the most recent Microsoft update has created issues with Office. Personally, I am struggling keeping the programs open — as I can a “This program needs repair” error. If you reach out to our helpdesk via the link above, they will be able to work with you to try and resolve the issues the Microsoft update created. Thank you!

  5. I HAVE YOUR EVERGREEN PROTECTION ON MY COMPUTERS. A COUPLE OF DAY’S AGO, I LOST ALL KEYBOARD FUNCTIONS, ON MY COMPUTER, & I BROUGHT IT TO A REPAIR SHOP, & THE TECHNITION, TOLD ME THIS IS THE 5TH COMPUTER BROUGHT INTO HIM, WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. ALL OF US HAD PC MATIC SECURITY. DO YOU KNOW OF THIS PROBLEM. IF YOU CAN’T GIVE ME AN ANSWER, I’LL HAVE TO LOOK ELSEWHERE, FOR A NEW PROGRAM. A PROMPT RESPONSE WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

    • Ron, please contact our support team for assistance. This issue is happening on a large amount of Windows computers and has been cause by Microsofts recent patches. Many users are seeing blue screen problems as well. pcmatic.com/help
