  1. I haven’t downloaded Holdkey yet but it looks great. I get the special characters a different way. When a special character is needed I refer to a printed list of Ascii codes. By pressing & holding the Alt key, I press the associted 3 digits for the character then release the Alt key. The list contains about 280 combos that produce the spec. characters, math signs like the square root, exponents, degree mark, lower case Greek alphabet, lines, shapes and some print color. I’ve used this up to the current versions of MS Office, WP, Adobe, etc.
